Several Netflix discs had piled up and due to our typical busy state of being, we hadn't gotten to them until last night. So, I put on Far From the Madding Crowd just after dark, and we gave up on it fairly quickly. We followed that with Big Hero 6 and loved that one. Very Disney, of course, but a Disney rip of anime. Loved it.

If you haven't seen Shaun the Sheep yet, give it a try. It's by the same people who did Wallace & Grommet, with the stop action animation, and I thought it was a very funny, moving and original movie. It didn't do as well in the US as it should have, but hopefully global results and dvd/rentals will make up for that.

We've seen the episodes of the series, but not the movie, yet. It will be released on DVD rather soon.

I'm not familiar with the series, but I found the movie perfectly understandable without that.

Hotel Transylvania 2 is out now. I enjoyed the first one, found it surprisingly cute; but I'm not sure about the sequel. Guess it'll be dollar theater time, if I do go.

I don't watch a lot of movies, but I've had better luck with the animated ones when I do go. Less face-clawing at plot holes, poor characterization and whatnot.

That's one reason we make so much use of Netflix; if we went to all these bad movies it would cost so much. This way, we don't feel so bad if we stop a movie a few minutes in and dump it.
