Yesterday, I finished reading a book called Ancient Gonzo Wisdom: Interviews with Hunter S. Thompson edited by his second wife, Anita Thompson. There's a bit of good material here, but most of it is not new to me.
The second book I found much more exciting. It's Osprey Raid #6: The Samurai Capture a King: Okinawa 1609. I'd never heard of this particular event, and I found the reading fascinating. Stephen Turnbull, the author, has written a lot of works on that era of Japan's history, so he handles this one well.
