OK, so NADWCon 2, to be held in 2011 in Madison, WI, has opened up the lines to start accepting memberships and hotel reservations for the convention. It's going to be limited to 1000 memberships, and it sold out last time in Tempe, AZ. We've nailed down our reservations, and we're checking with various friends who might be interested. For those of you not aware of this convention, it's devoted to PTerry's Discworld (or to the even more uninitiated, to Terry Pratchett's books of the series that started with The Color of Magic a long, long time ago. Like, when I used to have dark brown hair!)
It's supposed to be held from around 7/8 - 7/11 or so, so anyone interested can plan accordingly. We're going to probably go visit Chicago from about the 2nd or 3rd through the 5th or 6th, then one day in southern Wisconsin, with me stopping at my childhood home in Racine, and possibly a visit to the Wisconsin Dells which I'd never seen in my youth, and then Madison, another place I've never been.
I admit to being excited that we're set up to go.
Now, I have to also check to see if we're going to be able to manage this AND WorldCon, which, IIRC, is going to be in Reno that year. Woohoo!
