Another of my "gift" books arrived yesterday, and I read Osprey Elite #179: Pike and Shot Tactics 1590 - 1660, a book about the feats of arms during a transitional period as new weaponry was introduced. Mildly interesting.

I've pondered getting and reading some of the swarm of Osprey Elite books that deal with WWII tactics, but I find myself thus far more interested in the more ancient forms. Silly me, I guess...

I find that guns and the wars that used then are of less interest to me than blades and the wars that used them. My sister thinks I was born into the wrong time. She may be right.

Have you looked at my shelves in the living room, then, and the Osprey books there? You might find some interesting things to peruse.
