While I awaited the brake job, I finished reading The Art of War for Writers: fiction writing strategies, tactics, and exercises by James Scott Bell. It gave some useful suggestions, and stimulated me to get back to work on a piece I've been puttering with.

That sounds interesting! Do you think it's something readily understood by the general reader who likes war games/movies and similar? I have a young friend who's in history classes at college, and she loves that stuff.

It's not really a translation of The Art of War by Sun Tzu; the author simply takes a few of his quotes to make up a writing book. It's not the best one I've seen, it just gave me the push to get back to the keyboard.

Knowing bedlamsbard, she'd rather read The Art of War backwards than easy quotes, lol. thanks!
