Busy, busy, busy, yesterday. Along with other things that I'll post later, we went to visit my mother. We drove to her home, after a stop at a quilt store with a 25% off sale, and spent the afternoon and evening with Mom. She had sandwich fixings, and we were joined by her good friend Fran, and it was good to sit and chat. Mom had insisted that we bring swim suits, and we did go swimming, which was smart, in that heat. Then, home, with a quick burger stop en route.

While at Mom's, after I'd reset her phone system so that it should have better coverage throughout the house, forestcats helped her online with some travel arrangements so she can go visit family in the MidWest. All-in-all, a productive day.

I did try to read a book called Desert Queen: The Extraordinary Life of Gertrude Bell: Adventurer, Adviser to Kings, Ally of Lawrence of Arabia, about a woman who was featured in some of the special features material that comes with the Young Indiana Jones DVDs, but the verbiage was too flowery for my taste and so, even with my interest, I dumped it. I should go look at Project Gutenberg, though, because she's a published author, and some of her books might be there.
