For a number of years, I've been picking up the calendar that gives a book a day, and recommends them for reading, and yesterday I finished reading one that I was very impressed with. This was Windy City by Scott Simon, the NPR personality. He writes a novel about the politics of a fictional Chicago, emulating various personalities, and the realities of local politics. I really enjoyed the read and found it engrossing!

I've been getting them for a long time, now, though for some stupid reason, Borders doesn't carry them. I've found them for sale at libraries, and independent bookstores, but I usually buy them through Amazon.
