 | 07:20 am Yesterday, forestcats and I went to some more lectures, and then wandered off to the Cartoon Museum, where they have hung some interesting artwork. Then, she was off to visit sekl, and homewards, while I hung out with Gail & Howard, and two of Gail's students at a place called Tad's Steakhouse. Fair food.
In the evening, I tried streaming Battlefield Earth, but aside from the fact that the hotel's Internet feed couldn't really handle the data flow, the movie sucked, so I dumped it.
Home today!

Battlefield earth did suck. That was the first science fiction novel I read as a kid, and the movie was a huge disappointment. I've never read it, and, oddly enough, it isn't in my stack of "to-be-reads".
I enjoyed it. It is a long read. In several parts it dragged. And I mean DRAGGED. I have since learned that is a trait of Hubbard's works. And in several different sections I could swear the story couldn't have ended nicely. I recommend, but with low expectations. I don't tolerate dragging much anymore, so I'll take that as a negative recommendation. No offense.
