I think maybe I'm James Burke-d out...I tried reading The Axemaker's Gift, but I didn't find it engaging. It's almost as though he's been rewriting Connections over and over again, with slight variations in his starting theme, but not enough different to truly get my attention. Oh, well.
I've read two comics, this week. The first is DMZ #59 - I wonder if they're planning to end the series soon? The second was Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? #17, as the book advances...

I wish I had the energy to read for pleasure - I miss it. I'm not even sure what I'd want to pick up.
Your time will come. When it does, ask me, and I'd be happy to give you a few suggestions.

whenever you'd like! email me some suggestions to email@example.com when you have a chance. I'd love it :D
Oh, no, let's discuss it here! Then, other folks can chime in.
What sorts of things interest you? SF? Romance? Horror?
Seems to me that I remember something about you watching horror flicks, but I may be fuzzy minded...

I live on Horror flicks :) Romance? not so much, Sci-Fi yes, fantasy stuff as well. I love self help books and usually when someone asks me what I want gift wise I always say "get me or give me a book that you've read, that changed YOUR life".
My all-time-favorite SF novel was by Robert Heinlein, called The Moon is a Harsh Mistress; I also often recommend his books Glory Road, Citizen of the Galaxy and Stranger in a Strange Land. He wrote a lot more material, but if you liked those, it shouldn't be too hard to find the rest.
I don't read a lot of horror, but a close second would be urban fantasy novels, and for that, I think you might enjoy Jim Butcher's Dresden File series of books, starting with Storm Front.
If you try a couple of those, let me know what you think, and I'll try to come up with some more for you.

awesome; thanks for the suggestions :D I'll put them on my xmas wish list and see if I get any - and then if not, I will seek them out myself.
I'd be shocked if you couldn't find all of them through your public library...

I don't have a library card *pout*
It's not like you have to take a test, like for a driver's license. But if you'd rather buy the books, I'm sure the store will thank you.

Happy Thanksgiving, Bill. Hope you had the day off.
I did, and I didn't. Cooking, moving furniture, that sort of work...
