We held our Orphan's Thanksgiving celebration, again, and had something more than 15 people at the table. I didn't keep count.
Up in the morning, some cleaning. I had to run to the grocery store, of course, for something we were out of, and then to 7-11 for ice. forestcats was stressed, getting both birds and a bison cooked, along with several stuffings.
To keep us entertained while we worked, I put on Serenity, and then later, Pandora.
Finally, the rental company dropped off the jumpy tent and some tables and chairs, just as xcentricities arrived in force. As the day progressed, more folk arrived. Tables set, furniture moved.
Wine and mead and beer and cider bottles opened and imbibed. I'm pretty sure that I dumped more than nine wine bottles after their contents were filtered past folks kidneys. I made several trips out to the trash bins with the detritus of the day's events.
When we finally sat down to table, our guests filled their plates several times each, and every dish was well-received. forestcats and I were delighted to see our friends enjoy the food so well. Afterwards, table games were broken out, and more fun was had.
The last of the guests left about ten PM. I put on an episode of Pole to Pole, another Michael Palin travelogue while my spouse collapsed in a heap.
This morning, even though Randy did quite a bit of the dishes, I've already run one load, and started another load of dishes in the dishwasher, and I've still got a lot of hand wash to do. brushette has had her breakfast, and forestcats is still out like a light.
So, now we'll relax our way into the weekend.
