We'd watched Caprica as it came out, and though it was set in the Battlestar Galactica environment, it had a very different feel, and a much different underlying theme, which was fine. Apparently, ScyFy (hate that abomination of a name) chose not to support it any further, and pulled the series a while back, though they had another five episodes in the can. I'd heard something vaguely about them restarting those episodes in March, so I put it out of my mind.

forestcats noted on the 'Net that the show was going to have a marathon, yesterday, and when I checked our DVR, it was ignoring the shows, even though they were supposed to be "new", so I modified the parameters, and when I got home last night, we had five episodes to watch, leading to our own marathon. We finished the series. The last five minutes of the fifth episode basically summarized what probably would have been a season or two. *Sigh*.

Such a bummer, I really enjoyed that show. I still have the last three to watch.

You've seen four out of the five final episodes, and you missed the last one? Really?

Summarizing the five episodes is a bit beyond my willingness to spoil the fun, so you might have to rent the DVD when it's available.

I'm quite upset that they canceled that show.

I think that the problem was that it was a mostly cerebral show, with a variety of political and religious themes, and that there wasn't enough big splashy battles to placate the channel's executives. In any case, it just didn't survive.
