I was lectured at, yesterday, about stem cells and wound healing systems...exciting stuff. These things are available NOW. They're even talking about using the technology for degenerative arthritis. Very cool.

Do the stem cells hold a solution to exuberant tissue in the wound-healing?

(Yeah, it's been quite while since my boss was the equine orthopedist.)

They gave no information about excessive tissue growth ("exuberant" sounds so young and happy!).

Would that sort of thing help with people who had to get hip or knee replacements? Or RA? Just curious. Sounds interesting.

It would be used to avoid joint replacements if possible. I don't think that they're presently using it for RA, or other autoimmune issues, but for wear and tear kind of problems.

I could be wrong, though, but that's not what he presented.
