Finished last week's comics, just in time for the new release...of course:
1. Samurai's Blood #2 of 6 - not quite as interesting as the first one, but they have things to set up, and still plenty of room to go.
2. Dollhouse: Epitaphs #! - NO. Just NO.
3. Elric: The Balance Lost #1 - I had to really ponder this one, but in the end, I have to say, No. Too bad.
Last week I once again had a problem getting the BluRay player to play a Netflix disc, but it popped right in and played on forestcats' laptop; the disc was season one number one of Penn & Teller's Bullshit. I only watched one episode, but I thought they did it well, and I've added the *8*!!! seasons to Netflix. I've powered up the handheld DVD player, and I'll watch the rest of the disc that way, before returning it to Netflix. I do wonder, though, why the main player rejects some of these discs; there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with them.
I also ran Battle Los Angeles via Netflix disc. On the one hand, I'm glad I didn't spend $20 to take us to this ... movie; on the other, it must have been a spectacle on the Big Screen. I found it pretty trite, and they painted over the stupidities of the script by constant action. I was getting a headache from the camerawork, what with the constant motion. It was basically a 2.5 out of 5. Watching the CGI was cool, but the script desperately needed work.
