Yesterday, I puttered around the house, occasionally lending forestcats a hand with the quilt she was making. Once that was done, I drove us to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to visit squeakytina. I don't feel that it's my place to talk about her illness in print on the Internet, but I'm willing to converse with those interested. Call me.

Anyway, she was much better than the posts of a week ago hinted at. She was happy about the quilt, though it appeared that she might have been expecting it, not that it was a secret or anything. Still, she wanted it covering her on the bed right away, which was very nice. We chatted for a while, and then the hospital staff arrived, as she was being moved from that floor to the rehab floor, so we and Chaim and his wife loaded up her things and helped with the transfer. She's now on the 7th floor; forestcats posted the room number for those interested.

After our visit, the four of us wandered the hospital neighborhood, and decided on a small Italian place for dinner called Angelino Cafe. I had a very good risotto, overall we were pleased with the food, though it was almost too noisy for conversation. We strolled a bit afterwards, and spent quite a while standing and conversing near our parking lot before calling it a night.

Cedars is the BEST - both in patient care (and you'd know) but also for the creature comforts for people who are either caretaking or visiting. If Jerry's Deli is still in operation (it's been a while) - always good, never boring and the menu is long enough to avoid repeating anything.

Apparently, it's still there, about a block away. In a different direction than the one we strolled, though.

This ain't no party, this ain't no disco...
