We opened the day, yesterday, with forestcats hitching up the trailer to the truck, and loading Booboo into the trailer.

Sounds simple, doesn't it? However, it took over an hour for all aspects of the job to be completed.

Horses to be chased. Vehicles to be carefully maneuvered. Donkey to be persuaded. Aiming the truck at the hitch was actually one of the easiest things; it only took three passes.

One thing that I noted: a stray kitten living at our neighbor's to the west sat on their fence through the proceedings and watched, clearly amused with our antics.

In the end, it all worked out. Booboo was reunited with my nieces. forestcats returned home safely with truck, trailer and donkey.

During the evening, I caught up on some comic books. First was Supreme Power #3 of 4 - eh. Next was Fables #108 - bounced around all over the place. I wish they'd pick out just one storyline to stay with, but obviously it's all going to tie in together later. Then, DMZ #68 - the series is winding down. Finally, Samurai's Blood #3 of 6 - I found the lettering hard to read until I took my glasses off. Sad book, this one.

I got tired of trying to line up the trailer and truck. SO I got one of these. http://www.harborfreight.com/magnetic-trailer-alignment-kit-95684.html

Seems like everything is taking a while to get accomplished. And the quicker we think the job is going to go, the more problems it causes.

I'll have to pass that on to forestcats. I have no idea how well that might work...

It actually worked well for us. But we do not have a shell on the truck. My problem was 1ton 4x4 truck and a small trailer. Normal truck and trailer I can do. This thing is a monster.

The little alignment thing helped me gauge my directions.

It ought to work, depending on how high those telescoping rods rise. The truck is a Ford F250, so it would have to be pretty tall to get above the line of the bed to be visible. Still, it's reasonably cheap at this price...

Yeah we have a F350 so I know what you mean. Plus its a 4x4, but they telescope 43" I believe.

Wanted at least a 250 but found a sweet deal on this one.
