While still at the office, yesterday, I got a call from my wife: one of the horses was colicky. Not good. Horses can die from such things. She'd tried to reach our horse vet, who lives only about six blocks away, but apparently he was on a call some fifty or so miles away. A second vet never called back. One of her good friends, also a horse vet, didn't answer her cell phone. So, forestcats attempted to do what she could to relieve pressure.

By the time I got home, the friend had arrived, in true cavalry fashion, and things were in hand. The horse was behaving better, and showing interest in food.

We spent the sunset dealing with horse business, but watching as the sky went through a spectacular display of colors. Probably the best sunset I've seen all year.

This morning, Yogi (the horse in question) is better, though we stayed up much of the night, keeping an eye on him.
