In the late morning, we drove down to Buena Park to meet up with several folks who'd been participants in an old dial-up BBS system, called The Belching Dragon Inn and Tavern, which later in its run, hooked up with two or three other BBSs into a network of sorts. Originally, the sysop ran it as an adjunct to his D&D game, but it became more of a social outlet. forestcats and I used to for conversation and it helped us meet and make some new friends, some of whom we still socialize with. Anyway, the Internet overwhelmed the BBS system, and though The Belching Dragon still exists to some extent as a conversation/posting group, it's nothing like it used to be. This meetup occurred because the former sysop now lives in the Northwest, and he and his daughter come down to go annually to Knott's Halloween Haunt, so they announced a brunch at Fuddrucker's in Buena Park, and since I wasn't on call, we went. Food was tolerable, company was better.
Home, we rested. I got a little laundry done, but not much.
In the early evening, a couple who play in my Rolemaster game came by for some game-related housekeeping chores. It got late, we got hungry, and we finished up at Norm's again, and here it was 10PM plus, and the place was hopping. Good for them!
