Last night was the very first time since we've had Fios that I've ever used Video on Demand. Apparently, our DVR only kept the most recent five episodes of Fringe, and so we lost the first two. However, for a small fee, we were able to watch the first and second episodes of season 4. Live and learn, no?

By default, the DVr for FiOS will only keep 5 episodes. If you set the timer with options or edit the event after creating it, you can change that.

I was aware of that option, but had forgotten about it. Mea culpa.

I gather that it relates to their defenses against the DDoS attacks; probably is the source thereof.

We haven't used the "pay" option, but we frequently catch up on shows of this or last week with the "free" option. We are so glad we swtiched to FiOS.
