While the laundry was percolating, yesterday, I finished reading Jarhead: A Marine's Chronicle of the Gulf War and Other Battles. I found it to be a powerful book, though it bounced around from the author's youth, to his service pre-war, to life afterwards, and to Desert Storm. It's not a pretty tale of honor and glory at all.
