Work wasn't particularly difficult, yesterday, and so I got home early enough to get a nap to minimize the effects of the evening's festivities.

We stopped en route at a revolving sushi bar where the food was very good. I had several varieties I've never seen before. The place was packed, primarily with Asian folk, and I took this as a good sign of quality. My belly suggests it was well-chosen.

From there we drove into the San Fernando Valley to a bar called Maeve's Residuals in Studio City, not far from Universal. Why? Because for his birthday, some of axelicious's friends put him up for a roast, which turned into a very funny evening. Being on call, I drank club soda, and kept checking my beeper, because the ambient noise was likely to drown out its cry. I also laughed a lot. I came under fire for a short bit of it, but it was all in good fun.

We got home late; my wife's voice is shot from trying to chat with folks in that noisy environment. I'm going to three hospitals, and several nursing homes, so it's going to be a long day; not like yesterday at all. It's a new month; it has to get done.

(Speak, or forever hold your peace)
