Sunday was a busy day. Lots got done, but not everything on the to-do list.

In the morning, I spent quite a bit of time dealing with some backup issues; valuable, but it took time. I also loaded some software I've been needing, but I didn't do much with it, yet.

Once my beloved got home from a meetup class on gardening, I took her to a surprise. See, at my birthday, last year, she wanted to take me somewhere to get a photograph. She likes to commemorate certain numeric birthdays as "speed limit", and get photos at appropriate signs. I was, let's say, irritable at the time, and I didn't feel like going. Later in the year, I promised to go prior to my next birthday, so yesterday I surprised her with driving her to Vineyard & 4th in Ontario, where there is a posted speed limit of 55 on surface streets. It did surprise and delight her, and the photos were shot.

Nearby was a Popeye's Chicken; we'd noticed that they were advertising Peach Pies, so we stopped in for lunch. The peach pies were OK, but disappointing.

Being nearly there, we stopped by Victoria Gardens, and wandered a bit. We picked up a few items from Crate & Barrel, as well as Williams-Sonoma, and then headed home. Let me say that Crown Books is a disappointment, as well.

In the evening, my beloved napped when she was feeling especially off-color, and so for dinner, I had leftover pizza from the previous day. Felt like old times in Chicago!

It's to be a busy week. We will be having guests at various times through the week, which'll be fun!

In all of its incarnations over the years, I have always found a visit to Crown Books to be a despair-inducing experience.

I humbly suggest that one incarnation was delightful: Bookstar!
