I haven't watched a mission control since the Apollo days, and then it was on TV.
A few weeks back, forestcats and I walked by that control room.
My beloved was supposed to go to a lecture and watch the landing, but that fell through. Instead, I streamed NASA TV, since Verizon doesn't think it's worthwhile to have it on our cable feed, and we watched for the last half hour or so before hitting the atmosphere, until the celebrating was over.
I am in awe of watching the science fiction of my youth becoming the household items of my adulthood. Now for mankind to expand into the Solar System, exploring and colonizing!
