To start, I didn't get a chance to go to any panels; the only one I was interested in was so late that it conflicted with our dinner plans. That's the way it goes!
What did happen is just as I was out of the shower, friends that we'd expected to see through the whole convention finally made it. It turns out that the father of this family was on call through the weekend, and never got a chance to come, but he was going to be helping run the art auction, and he had to be here on Sunday. It was lovely to see the Passovoys, and we did attend the auction. Back in the days when we lived in Chicago, the auctions were delightful fun, and we ended up with a number of pieces of art that still adorn our home.
In addition, forestcats managed to finally get in touch with Jay Borland, one of the men who were in my side of the wedding party. I haven't seen him since his own wedding, so it was nice to catch up. We went out to the Greek Islands, our restaurant of these ethnicity of choice in Chicago. Good food, good friends, catching up with each other; it was a delightful night.
I was too full, and had had a bit too much Greek wine, to go out to filking, but my spouse did, and had a good time with it. And now today is the last day of the convention...
