And then a theme: more personal history...
We watched Argo last night. Got the Netflix disc and popped in on, after we'd hosted Friday night services for our Havurah, which was very pleasant in its own right. Winding down, we agreed to put on the movie and see what it was like.
The period of the Iran Hostage Crisis occurred during my medical school; I truly feared that we were going to go to war over it. So when the embassy staff members managed to sneak out of the country, I remember the joy and the good feelings towards Canada. I know that the movie expands on what happened; making it more thrilling than it truly was, but I have to say that it dredged up feelings of the period that I'd long forgotten. Terrific film!
