Early yesterday morning, I finished reading Smuggler's Moon, another Sir John Fielding novel by Bruce Alexander; these are set in England before the Revolutionary War. The author does a fine job in scene setting, and the mystery is nicely set up. I've enjoyed the whole series thus far, but there's only a few books left in the saga.
Then, I read Osprey Fortress #7: The Lines of Torres Vedras 1809 11; this line of fortifications is of historical import because it stopped the advance of Napoleon's troops into Portugal, and gave the British a base to use to campaign against the French forces. Not a bad read.
