I finished several books.
First was Osprey New Vanguard #3: Sherman Medium Tank 1942 – 1945, about a ubiquitous vehicle of the era. Mildly interesting.
Then, Osprey New Vanguard #11: M3 Infantry Half-Track 1940 – 73, a similarly common vehicle, with more staying power than the Sherman. I have to admit that the Half-track has always tickled my fancy for reasons I can't explain. I've always wondered what driving one was like.
Next, House of Steel: The Honorverse Companion. This one is set in David Weber's long-running universe, with a short piece about the previous monarchies of Manticore, and then a massive amount of data about all sorts of background material. Good for a completist, not absolutely necessary for someone getting started with On Basilisk Station, the first novel of the saga.
Finallly, I read another of David Wishart's stories set in Imperial Rome, No Cause for Concern, a satisfying mystery.
I'm now aggressively trying to read another Lutz mystery; about a quarter through, so maybe by Sunday?
