I was swamped with work, yesterday, and stuck in Pomona for hours getting the majority of my duties done, so when in the mid-afternoon I finally started heading to I-210 to head to Rancho Cucamonga, I was shocked to realize that I was seeing air operations to put down a brushfire right in the La Verne area. Two of the big scooper airplanes, and nearly half a dozen helicopters, including at least two TV news choppers were buzzing around. Later, I heard that they'd evacuated a school! Messed up traffic...

We had Yom Kippur services with the Havurah in the evening; more of that today to come.

I was leaving the Fair around 1:15 and they already had the planes out working on it, but my westbound traffic was as yet unaffected. I hope everyone wound up being okay!
