We had a very busy day, yesterday...

Early in the day, a friend and fairly close neighbor's alarm went off, and we were among those notified by the security company. By the time we got there, the police had been and gone, but there was no evidence of forced entry, thank goodness.

Once home again, we did some maintenance work on the middle stall of the barn, cleaning up some old pallets that had been used to keep the hay bales off the ground. Following that, forestcats had me up on Yogi to do some bareback balancing, followed by us currying both horses and the donkey, the latter of whom was very much in our business the whole time we were out in the barn. It was a perfect day to be out; temperatures were in the upper fifties with intermittent clouds. Beautiful!

After a bit of a rest, we drove into town to meet up with thechaim42 for a quick dinner at The Counter (I had a bison burger...), followed by The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Although there were visually some cool moments, I don't find these movies quite as stimulating as I did The Lord of the Rings. There are differences from the book, but they don't seem to affect the flow of events in any significant ways.

Then home. We have more events planned for today!
