Dead Dog Cat

exhaustion

Having been oncall for 5 of the last 7 days, I've just about had it. Came home last night and got the dishes done, something I should have been doing while oncall, but when I get home, I usually can't find the energy. I did manage to watch a couple of DVDs: on Saturday, played the first Harry Potter- I really needed a boost, and somehow that film raises my spirits. On Sunday night, interupted about every twenty minutes, I watched Zulu in Widescreen. I've never seen that film in widescreen before, and it made the picture a different film. Lots of open views of the terrain, lots of beautiful vistas. However, it made many of the combat scenes look a lot more staged. Most of the casualties looked like they were overacting their wounds, and they didn't spend much effort on special effect makeup or whatever, i.e. blood and guts. So, the widescreen made the show look less authentic than the TV version.

Today is supposed to be a half-day at work, and then tonight we party with friends, with something of a sleepover to minimize folks chances of harm on the way home. Cool, and I have been looking forward to this all weekend.

Happy New Year's, all who read this!
