Dead Dog Cat

Eerily worried

I find myself very uncomfortable with the Bush administration's insistence on going to war, not because I feel the war is undeserved, but because they are going about it in a fashion that leaves the military badly restricted. One of the key reasons that the first Gulf War was a success was because we were able to attack along several corridors, but now we're limited to invading through the Basra area, and along the Kuwaiti border. In addition, the first Gulf War was praised due to its lack of mission creep (the slow addition of second and third and fourth objectives that mask the real, primary objective). All the news reports seem to be adding mission after mission to the poor benighted infantry. Finally, all the arguments I'm hearing now deal with post-war Iraq; we haven't even started the fighting! What's the point of arguing about things that might not have any comparison with reality after we get done with blowing up the country.

All I can say is that I'm really concerned that Bush is doing an LBJ on us, and that we may be biting off far more than we can chew.

to that person off the coast of Europe:

What was the name of that little island off of northern Freedom...or France....or Frogland....whatever?

Um....Jersey? Wight? Man? Guernsey? Ireland? Hebrides? Scotland? Wales? HMMMM....I guess I'd better get out a map...if they're important enough, the country'll be named there.....
