Dead Dog Cat

(no subject)

So, we had an event here at the house yesterday. forestcats and I were cleaning madly yesterday morning and into the afternoon to get ready for the onslaught. It was intended to be a costuming event for our friends to finish various projects for Dungeonmaster (www.the-dungeonmaster.com), and for the upcoming RenFaires locally. One of the guys brought over a PS2, and a number of fight games (a genre that I don't play), so that the XY-chromosomed individuals had something to keep them busy. I, on the other hand, had to chop up lamb, and do those many things that I do to keep a party humming. I'm pleased to say that Liz finished her corset, which managed to help her back by stabilizing it, and Anna finished (or nearly finished, she didn't exactly say) a peasant shirt. forestcats completed a pair of pants for thefreak to wear as necessary, but intended for use in Dungeonmaster.

After the dust settled, I managed to finish a book: Talon of the Silver Hawk by Raymond Feist. Feist has written a series of novels from a D&D-style game universe, and has done quite well, each series of novels takes a new character, and grows them up from a minor to a major role in the world. Previous characters act as walk-ons, but this gives the series a feeling of continuation, rather than having the same old characters doing the same old things over and over (take for example the various Star Trek series of books). Yet another book enjoyed thoroughly.
