Dead Dog Cat

(no subject)

Survived another night home at 11:15, just to go back out for two admissions at two different hospitals and didn't get back until 1:30AM. ugh

I finished another book yesterday, this one from a series by Peter J. Heck. The series postulates Mark Twain acting as a detective while traveling on a long-term lecture tour while he is trying to recover from financial reverses. I read the first book (Death on the Mississippi) a couple of years ago, and enjoyed it. This one was A Connecticut Yankee in Criminal Court, which ended up set in 1890s New Orleans. A murder had occured, in which a wealthy man is poisoned, and his cook is accused and arrested; Twain agrees to try to find the murderer to get the cook released. Another interesting read, especially as I have walked some of those old streets, and will again later this year. On to the third book of the series.

Can't wait for the weekend....gaming con, and two (count 'em, two) shows of Dungeonmaster....
