Dead Dog Cat

(no subject)

I finished today a book lent to me a very loooonnnnnnnggggg time ago by a good friend who we are going to travel to see this weekend...*whew*, just in time.

The book is Scipio Africanus: Greater Than Napoleon.

The book is a military history by B. H. Liddell Hart, an officer of the British Army who wrote at length about the history of this general and his effect on the conduct of the Punic Wars, and his confrontation with Hannibal, the Carthaginian general. Scipio commanded the Roman forces at Zama, the battle that stopped Hannibal for good. Interesting writing, though a bit dense, and it appears to have been written for the military or historical professional, as it seems to assume deep knowledge of more modern events and the gist of their tactics. Still, a read I thoroughly enjoyed.

On to other things...

Dungeonmaster is coming up again this Friday night...afterwards we are piling into a car and driving to Las Vegas. A close friend's son is having his Bar Mitzvah a couple of hours after we get there, so the weekend will be primarily related to this religious occasion, but it will be colored by exhaustion. We are taking several friends with us, so, when the dinners and such-like are finished, we'll do the town up proud.

Good news released today.

Dungeonmaster is going to increase its offerings to twice in the weekend it plays, starting in July. If we manage to attract 30 + to each show, it'll be a big boost. (The long-term hope is to build back up to 2-4 different shows each month, if we really hit the big time, maybe 3 iterations of each show...we can only hope)

Contract is still in something resembling limbo. More on that when I can talk about it.
