Columbia launch

(no subject)

Finished the last paperback novel of which I am aware by Peter J. Heck, called Tom's Lawyer, continuing the saga of Mark Twain acting as a detective as he travels around the world. In this one, he's in Missoula, Montana, and has to save his old buddy, the fellow he based Huckleberry Finn on. I enjoyed this one better than The Mysterious Strangler, the previous one. I look forward to the future releases.

Yesterday was a fairly awful day. To start the day, as I was driving to my first stop, a chicken attempts to fly across the road at approximately my eye level seated in my car. The bird is manuvering at approximately the speed (and size) of a floating balloon, and almost ends up a feather mess on (or in) my windshield.

Later, I sit down in the car, and the starter fails. Luckily, I was able to get a tow to our mechanic's place of business, and he usually is good about giving a lender; he came through once again. However, it's another irritant.

Haven't had time to write the promised post about Psych hospitals, but it's on my list of things to do; I'm oncall this weekend, so it probably won't happen until early next week. (Phooey)
