One more tick of the clock and we're done with reading Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer. I had seen so many folks mention this book in last year's challenge, that I thought I'd try it out. It's a much more fun read than the Pullman books, and left me just as amused by the unusual world description. I suspect that I'll pick up more of the same down the road a piece.

Another book bit the dust yesterday: Burmese Days by George Orwell. I gave it a solid try, but I found pretty much all of the characters reprehensible, and I couldn't find it in me to waste my time reading about the prejudices and the class-riddled society of British Burma in the 1920-30s.

I spoke to you, and have posted it in a couple of other places, but now, I have time to log onto LJ, and so I wish you a belated Happy Birthday, mrsmartian. Many happy returns!

Dungeonmaster is having the run-in to the Guardian of the Flame episode which will occur on the Friday after next. Excitement abounds! I know of 14 possible entries, but I cannot be bribed into telling who they might be. So there.
