yet another in a long series of books:

I finished today the Tony Hillerman book Skeleton Man, which is another of his novels set in the Leaphorn/Chee series. These usually deal with some aspect of the friction of Native American culture versus typical American culture leading to mysteries set on or near the reservations in the Southwest. This one, though a fine read in itself, doesn't rise to the level of most of the previous novels of the series. I still enjoyed it, but it didn't add to my knowledge of anthropology all that much.

We've managed to get our gift shopping done for our nieces and nephew locally; we'll have all the young'uns taken care of in a few more days. I'm looking forward to seeing the kids response to these gifts; they are all things forestcats and I would have wanted when we were that age.

The cookie exchange is coming; would someone please tell forestcats that she should leave some room on the table for other people's cookies!
