Columbia launch

(no subject)

One final note about the trip to Las Vegas.

I forgot to mention, and shouldn't have, because it honestly isn't forgettable, that we went to visit a museum which has opened in LV in the last 4 or 5 months, the Atomic Testing Museum (I think it was called). The place is a repository of artifacts from the late 40s onward, and includes a lot of multi-media exhibits, including film and sound. Very worthy of a looksee when you are tired of the casinos raping your wallet.

Columbia launch

Yesterday was a blast.

A distant cousin was in town with relatives visiting, and my parents put on a brunch for him. He's a vegetarian, pretty strictly, actually, and so my mother attempted to make a spread that he could enjoy. He seemed to enjoy himself, so, that's fine.

The especial joy came with us bringing Sirius, Barbie, and brushette to my parents' backyard; the fun started when our nephew and nieces arrived. Much romping ensued. The dogs were exhausted on the way home.

We spent a good while chatting with Liz, axelicious, and timmy_ritz during a stop on the way home. Hanging and chatting was fun...

More, later in the week...
