Dead Dog Cat

(no subject)

Finished up a Netflix DVD of the 4th Season of ST:TNG; quality of the items were pretty variable. I still have most of the 4th Season to go.

What can I say about forestcats's reading of the Haftorah yesterday? She was nervous coming in to the service, but once she got up, she moved with assurance and comfort. I'm very proud of her.

I'm oncall again for the ER at San Antonio; grrr.

I'm sitting her in front of the computer with things I have to do, but earlier today, I installed the necessary components to do my true first full backup of a hard drive. I've often made backup copies of critical materials, but this is the first time I've ever done the whole lot at a sitting. If it weren't taking so long, or if I didn't have other duties that I need to do, I'd be overjoyed.

Last night, I helped forestcats get sufficient motivation that we could complete something she's wanted to do for quite a long time. I'm glad I could help; it was great to see how pleased she was.

While sitting here waiting for this long process to end, I read several new comics. First was Rising Stars: Voices of the Dead #4, which was more disjoint and harder to follow than the previous stories. Second was 303 #5 which continued the previous tale well, but it hints that it's the penultimate story in the saga. Then, The Stardust Kid #2 which is very interesting. I'm liking this one in both art and the way the tale's being told. Finally, Warren Ellis is penning a new comic series that is being published at a marked discount, called Fell, and issue #1 shows it to be an eerie tale about a detective in a strange precinct. I think I'll continue to follow that.

...and (updating the backup) it's still not done...
