Dead Dog Cat

(no subject)

Continuing to gobble up the comic books, I've read House of Secrets #19 - 22. Still eerie and interesting; it ends at 25.

Didn't get home in time to help fill trick-or-treaters' bags with candy. Sounds like it was fairly busy here, although forestcats tells me that a number of the kids were too frightened of the dark under our trees to come up the path. Tee-hee!

Oncall once again, of course.

Last night, forestcats wasn't in the mood to catch up on films that we've had sitting from Netflix, so I pulled out an old SF film to watch. Now, I used to think that films like Forbidden Planet were old classic SF, but anything that I saw in the theater originally, I didn't view as old. Now, I'm coming to grips with the thought that that definition isn't so appropriate. So, the film in question came out in 1981; I was in late medical school or early internship when it was released, and that was a LONG time ago. So it's an old film. I still enjoyed it, mostly, and I put it on last night. Outland, with Sean Connery. An SF police drama set in a mining colony on Io. I'd still recommend a viewing, though it's truly not a great classic film. I'm really not sure that the "effects" of explosive decompression were realistic.
