Dead Dog Cat

(no subject)

Yesterday, in the wee hours of the morning, I finished the most recent David Weber novel, At All Costs. Once again, Weber managed to disappoint me. I'd much rather that he concentrate on the midshipmen at this point, rather than continuing to deal with Honor Harrington. It just doesn't have the flair any longer, as she just isn't showing the risk any more. Space opera.

A variety of interesting things have happened in the last few days, but because I've been busy experiencing them, I haven't had time to post about them.

Saturday, friends arrived for the holiday from Albuquerque, including bigsqueezer. After they settled down, and forestcats and I put some more time into preparing the back storage room, we took the aforementioned fellow to Dungeonmaster. Unfortunately, due to the release of the Potter film, and the GenConWest game convention, there weren't enough people to get Bruce to put on the play. However, erich_schneider was kind enough to lend me a pile of Knights of the Dinner Table which I'll be reading soon.

Found out that my friend who has been garnering all JMS written comics for me stopped doing so early in October. He supposedly sent me an email to warn me, but I've seen no such email, or I'd have taken appropriate steps. Fiddlesticks.

forestcats, I'm proud to say, managed to finish getting the new guest room ready in time for the arrival of an old friend from Chicago. We're looking forward to the week, now.

Yesterday, we met my parents, sisters, and family at The Great Greek for dinner in honor of my Father's birthday. I think he enjoyed himself well; we got him a digital camera, as his film one wasn't giving very good photos.
