Dead Dog Cat

We finally got to the theater yesterday to watch Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. First of all, I have to say that of all of the four books, this is the one I liked the least. Still, there was good stuff to be seen in the film. I'd rather not give much away, but it's definitely worth a matinee, and probably more. I did find that there wasn't as much character development in the secondary characters as I'd hoped for, as there was much more action to be had. Maybe that's why I wasn't quite as jazzed. Still, I liked it fairly well.

erich_schneider lent me a stack of Knights of the Dinner Table collections, and I finished volume 2. More chuckles, and feeling like this group reminds me of too many gamers. However, the general run of the folks who gamed with me were better roleplayers than are depicted in these comics. I still recall how much better the games got when I started giving out experience points for amusing the dungeonmaster.

Our guest rooms are now full; tomorrow is the big day. I have a full day's work ahead of me, and I'll need to do some cooking before I go to sleep tonight...

Last night, forestcats and I finished watching a DVD from Netflix called The Spaghetti West, which is a documentary about the Italian-made Westerns which filled the void created when Hollywood essentially stopped making them. I found it to be an engaging and interesting discussion of the topic; films covered included The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, A Fistful of Dollars, and several others.
