Dead Dog Cat

#15, 16, 17, 18

Can you tell my wife is away, and I've got time to read?

I finished the following books today:

Osprey Elite #125: Samurai Commanders (1): 940 - 1576 which is a further book detailing some of the more important or famous of the military leaders in the more ancient years of Japanese history. Not bad, some interesting details.

Osprey Campaign #161: The Third Crusade 1191: Richard the Lionheart, Saladin and the Struggle for Jerusalem which is a solidly interesting book but the plates that the Osprey books are famous for are pretty poor here.

Blood Rites, the sixth book of the Dresden series of novels by Jim Butcher. This is the latest one out in paperback, with one more in hardcover. The next novel, and the paperback version of the seventh, are due out in a couple of months. I continue to enjoy the series, and there is some deeper character development occuring, though not quite maturely. I expect continuing good things from the series.

Osprey Fortress #32: Crusader Castles in the Holy Land 1192 - 1302 which is rather a new book in the series in the sense that here, one of the detailed fortresses is an installation that I've personally seen with my Mark One eyeballs. Goes nicely with the other book on the Crusades.

...and just now I've gotten a phone call from my beloved, who is out with our friends, celebrating the impending birthday of themodeinliz.

I think I'll wander downstairs to watch a DVD; last night I watched the unsatisfactory end of the season 4 cliffhanger on a season 5 DVD for ST:TNG. forestcats and I also watched an episode of King of the Hill extolling the joys of smoking. Ick.
