Dead Dog Cat

(no subject)

We finished another disk of Deadwood last night; the final disk of season 1 is pending from Netflix, which is mostly additional materials. Very interesting work; everyone, and I mean everyone, has some darkness and some light in them. There are depths to every stereotypical character. I like it.

There may be an outing tonight to see Max Goblin Presents, while tomorrow night will be Dungeonmaster, of course.

Another book bites the dust.

Now this author, George MacDonald Fraser, is the writer of the Flashman series of historical comedy novels, which really doesn't tell the tale, but I digress. He's also a former journalist, former officer in Her Majesty's armed forces, and a script writer, whose works include The Three Musketeers and The Four Musketeers.

I just finished a book by the above, which is autobiographical, especially in the chapters which deal with his Hollywood work, while also including political essays on a variety of topics, well-written, and vitriolic at times.

All-in-all, an enjoyable read: The Light's on at Signpost. Try anything by this author...

I know I posted earlier about planning on trying to get to Max Goblin Presents tonight (Midnight!), but exhaustion, having to be oncall over the weekend, having Dungeonmaster that I MUST attend, and the heavy rains all conspire to keep me home and going to bed relatively early. Not to mention my side aches.
