Dead Dog Cat

Yesterday, I finished a book. A large book. One intended for gaming use, but still it's a book with chapters and everything. It's called Gary Gygax's Nation Builder: The Geographer's Guide to Setting Creation, and it does have a lot of stimulating ideas for setting up the background for gaming campaigns. It is NOT a good reference for school papers and the like, however.

One thing that slipped my mind, back a couple of weeks, is that as vampireanneke's party at the park was winding down, and the sun was setting, we could see bats winging about the trees, something I've never recognized before. They don't fly the same as birds do, you know...

Last night, forestcats and I watched a bit more of the material I was able to capture with the DVR of the Kentucky Derby. I don't remember if I mentioned this before, but forestcats said long ago that until she met me, she never missed watching the Kentucky Derby on TV on Derby Day; after meeting me, she'd never seen it, so once we had the DVR, I made certain to capture every show, on every channel that acted as pre-, during, or post, as well as background. She loved it; it was great to see.

In a little less than an hour and a half, I will no longer be oncall. Hopefully, I can survive until then.
