Dead Dog Cat

(no subject)

I managed to finish a few graphic novels in the last few days. These include Path of the Assassin #2: Sand and Flower, a manga about the early history of certain very famous Japanese leaders of the past; pretty good. Then there were the two Fables trade paperbacks, #5: The Mean Seasons, and #6: Homelands. These have been really quite good; I'm on a quest for #7, sooner or later.

I also read a comic, Wings of the Luftwaffe 1946 #1, and it sucks. The only good thing that I can say about this work is that the technical drawings are really excellent, but the storyline is worthless. I really am going to have to deep six this series and give up. It's just not worth reading.

We haven't really been able to wind down from the WorldCon fever all that much, in that we have a friend still staying with us until tomorrow. Tom took us out to Wabi Sabi last night, and the meal was very filling. I'm going to have to remember, though, that they don't really do much of a job with lobster, and stick to the steak, which was excellent.

I'll be working part of this weekend, but otherwise it'll be devoted to house care, and maybe some friendly visits.
