Dead Dog Cat

(no subject)

We had religious services at our house last night, and I had to lead them. Although I'm not untutored in the Jewish religion, this is the first time ever that I've led the services. I was lucky to have a couple of folks in our group who prompted, or who stepped in when I hit important prayers that I didn't know, and I didn't faint or wet myself, so I suppose it went well.

The food afterward was, of course, spectacular, in that forestcats spent the previous few days gathering materials and preparing five different fondues which were devoured with gusto, post services. In addition, she made four challahs, of which only shreds of one were left this morning (though, in all fairness, I think I saw one of the ladies leaving with one wrapped up in plastic...I could be wrong). She's the greatest: everyone loves her challah.

I followed that by watching my beloved fall deeply asleep, and playing a bit of Fables on the laptop. Like an idiot, I didn't save my gameplay, and lost it all when the laptop battery ran down. Live and learn.

I have much work today; hospitals, followed by nursing homes. Hopefully, tomorrow I'll be reloading files from the spare hard drive back onto the desktop.

Yet another book read...well, not so much read as skimmed; deeply read where it caught my eye.

This one was Schott's Almanac 2007, which contains loads of odd tidbits and tales that might amuse, a bit at a time. Good for the trivia buff.
