Dead Dog Cat

(no subject)

Last night, after work, I brought forestcats home some flowers, and after she got dressed up special, we went out to Tutti Mangia in Claremont for dinner. The food was very good, the ambiance not so much. It was very busy, for a Wednesday night, but the best part was the company. She looked spectacular. Hopefully, we'll stay signed up for another 190 years or so.

It's called Drakulya, and the constituent novels are The Prince Drakulya, and The Lord Count Drakulya, and deals with his political machinations between the Balkans and the Turks in the years before Columbus sailed to America. The books detail many of his atrocities, but tries to do so in a manner that suggest where his mania developed from. Being that this whole region is one of which I know little of their history, I found this an engrossing read, though the impalements were horrifying...
