Dead Dog Cat

I was pressured to run this meme.

1. Were you named after anyone?

Apparently, but I've long since forgotten who.

2. When was the last time you cried?

Quite a lot, this last couple of weeks. Wouldn't you?

3. Do you like your handwriting?

I don't write cursive, except for my signature; it's illegible. I print, for legibility.

4. What is your favorite lunch meat?

Good, lean, corned beef. There is no good corned beef in this neighborhood, however.

5. Do you have kids?

No.

6. If you were another person, would you be friends with you?

I'm a friendly guy.

7. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

You can't pin that one on me! Not unless you've spoken to me. Or read my posts. Well, maybe you can pin that one on me...

8. Do you still have your tonsils?

Yes.

9. Would you bungee jump?

No.

10. What is your favorite cereal?

Cinnamon-flavored Life, eaten with a little bit of honey, and skim milk.

11. Do you untie your shoes when you take them off?

Yes.

12. Do you think you are strong?

Physically, not particularly. Emotionally, maybe. Strong-willed? Yes.

13. What is your favorite ice cream?

I like many different flavors of ice cream, sherbet, ices, gelatos, etc; the one that I keep in the freezer is Natural Vanilla, because I feel like I can use so many different toppings with it.

14. What is the first thing you notice about people?

Their proximity.

15. Red or pink?

Usually red, though I do have a pink dress shirt or two.

16. What is the least favorite thing about yourself?

What's not to like?

17. Who do you miss the most?

Right now, Dad.

18. Do you want everyone to gack this meme from you?

No. Do this only if you care to.

19. What color pants and shoes are you wearing?

Slippers.
Anything else is on a need-to-know basis, and you don't need to know.

20. What was the last thing you ate?

A chocolate doughnut.

21. What are you listening to right now?

A hard drive rotating; the dishwasher running in the distance.

22. If you were a crayon, what color would you be?

Burnt sienna.

23. Favorite smells?

My wife's rub on steaks cooking on the grill.

24. Who was the last person you talked to on the telephone?

My wife of 19 years.

25. Do you like the person you gacked this meme from?

Indeed.

26. Hobbies?

Yes. There isn't room on this hard drive for the whole list.

27. Hair color?

Not what it used to be.

28. Eye color?

Brown.

29. Do you wear contacts?

No.

30. Favorite food?

So many. Let's start with meat. Then cheese. Then chocolate. The list lengthens from there.

31. Scary movies or happy endings?

No.

32. Last movie you watched?

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

33. What color shirt are you wearing?

That information is on a need-to-know basis, and you don't need to know.

34. Summer or winter?

Winter.

35. Hugs or kisses?

Loads of both, not to mention more athletic intimacies. But hugs alone are good.

36. Favorite dessert?

All sorts. The list of what I don't like is much shorter: if it has coconut, then I generally don't like it. If it's dry, the same.

37. LJ friend most likely to do this meme?

I don't care.

38. LJ friend least likely?

I care even less.

39. What book are you reading now?

Several, including one by Paul Hardy (Doherty), one by Raymond Feist, one by David Eddings, and one by Mike Resnick, but the one that's in reach right now is Return to Quag Keep by Andre Norton and Jean Rabe; it's a revisiting of a book Norton wrote in the 70s that was the first of the genre of books based on RPGs.

40. What is on your mouse pad?

I am padless. Do not cry for me, however, I seek no pads, due to a plethora of gifted pads that are piled elsewhere in the house, if they haven't already been ... deep-sixed.

41. What did you watch on TV last night?

Nothing.

42. Favorite sound?

Spouse's laugh.

43. Rolling Stones or Beatles?

Either, depending on my mood. However, I have to admit that although I generally like the Beatles better, I've heard them too often, and my pleasure is thereby diminished.

44. What is the farthest you have been from home?

Israel.

45. Do you have a special talent?

Puns.

46. Where were you born?

Chicago, IL, at a hospital that has now been converted into condominiums; the maternity ward was later turned into the intern's night quarters when I was an intern there, so I slept in the room in which I entered the world.

47. Whose answers are you looking forward to getting back?

None to speak of.
Dead Dog Cat

I was pressured to run this meme.

Last night, we finally got out and watched Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix; I'm sure that there were things that were missing from the film that were covered in the book, but the book was so damned large that I certainly won't quibble that they couldn't cover everything. I liked the film; the book was my favorite of the series that I've read, so far. We have yet to pick up a copy of the new seventh novel of the series, but I suspect that we'll be fixing that later today at CostCo; I won't be reading it until my beloved has read it, though, so I will be saucy at any of you posting spoilers without putting them behind lj cuts.
