Dead Dog Cat

Yesterday, I managed to finish another book by Anthony Bourdain, this one being one of his fiction works, Bone in the Throat. A quick read, and a good one. He manages to really give me a feeling of being in the restaurant kitchen very clearly. Worth reading.

I also gave up on trying to read an Eddings book called Regina's Song; I've been relatively disappointed with some of his works recently, and I just didn't feel like struggling with the book, what with all the books I have onhand to read.

When I got home last night from work, I really wasn't much in the mood to do all that many chores; fatigue got me down, though I did try to make the bed in the guest bedroom, and I got a bit of clean-up done in the guest bathroom. It isn't finished, though, in either case.

I did, however, watch a few things on the DVD, including Mirrormask, which seemed to me to be this generation's Labrynth, and that's a compliment; I followed that with one episode of ST:TAS, written by Walter Koenig, who never did any of the voiceover work in this series.

The hills north and east of my work are smoking; there's so much ash in the air that the blue sky has turned orange. The brushfires threaten homes of staff from the local hospitals, as well as several friends. Those in San Diego County sound like they are completely out of control, and may burn all the way to the sea. Welcome to our world, here.
