Dead Dog Cat

#17

Yesterday, I finished another book of the Nightside series by Simon R. Green, called The Unnatural Inquirer: A Novel of the Nightside. I enjoyed the first few books of this series; the later ones were more of a drag, and this one is more boring than that. Sigh.

I'm on jury duty today. Happy Valentine's Day, for those of you who have someone close to you to celebrate it with. I'm lucky that way.

Last night we celebrated our friends' anniversary with a dinner at a rather new local restaurant called Three Forks. It's high-end grub, but its local claim to fame is that they showcase a number of game meats, depending on availability. Last night's menu included rabbit, buffalo, elk and pheasant, all of which ended up on our table. I had a shrimp cocktail that was very good, and buffalo tenderloin that was excellent. The amuse bouche didn't amuse; the bottom of my pear tart was burnt. Setting those issues aside, I found the meal excellent, and the wait staff very good. I suspect that we'll be back fairly soon.
